Jacks Shack Fabrication has been in the industry for 20 plus years. It started with buying a Ventage Limo company Running Rolls and Bentleys using OE equipment. Finding out that is not the way to keep them on the road. Faced with no brakes and over heating, stock motors where not the way to go. We quickly used Hot Rod technology and brought them up to speed for todays world. We converted them to disc brakes and up to date engine and transmissions. Putting AC in them and getting them to live in 100 plus degrees weather. This also bled over to doing old school hotrods. We have been involved in LOTS of them, From mild to wild We do some of the best exhaust work on the planet, doing custom suspension with correct geometry for the big wheel cars. You can actually align them. We Fabricate almost any thing made from steel. We use Milling machines, we own an 80" lathe that will swing 22 inches, 16" by 12" Band saw, CNC plasma cutter that takes fabrication to the next level. (We cut and ground for years). We not only do cars but tons of Cut steel art ( I owned a sign shop for about 20 years total, I am really good at it).
Growing up in Fairbanks Alaska and working in the automotive business all my life working for and managing many auto shops over the last 50 years. 15 years ago opened an auto repair shop called Legacy Automotive in Snellville GA. Morphing into Special Day Limos using old vintage Rolls and Bentley automobiles. We kept our auto repair shop and the limo company together. After a few months of operation with the limo company we quicky discovered that they were next to impossible to run well, stop well and not over heat. We decided to convert them to late model engines and transmissions and convert the brake system that would actually work.
We started looking at doing restorations to older hotrods coming from that world as a very young man. My father had an automotive machine shop located in Fairbanks Alaska, so fresh out of the 10th grade I started learning my trade. Using the gifts he gave me with the machine shop and the race shop in our back yard went from hobby stock racing all the way to 6 sec. dragsters over a 30 year period. With no further education I looked to the gift my dad provided me with and grew to where we are at now.
After converting our three limos to late model engines, transmissions and brakes. putting better cooling systems and creature comforts like AC Systems and keeping them from overheating, we discovered that we had following in the industry to do the same to there vintage British cars. and Jacks Shack Fabrication was formed. We tooled up for metal fabrication, with a new set of tools out side our normal automotive stuff. We purchased a CNC Plasma cutter, Milling Machine, Large format lathe, large format bandsaw, Finger Brake and metal shear, Welders, Mig, tig and stick. Developing a brake kit for these old British cars making it easy for the above average mechanic to install, and are shipping them all over the world.
Through social media we were able to build a name for our self and field thousands of questions about doing what we do to these cars. Doing this and having to find methods along the way to make them better and better as the are over engineered nightmares in most cases and the OE replacement parts are either not available or are beyond normal comprehension when it comes to cost buying parts that are beyond expensive to continue the OE nightmare. We love the lines on these cars but the drive train leaves a nasty taste in your mouth when trying to maintain them.
As we started building most our are parts with our plasma cutter we found out the artistic side of it played into our fabrication theme. As stated I (Jack) also owned a sign shop for many years. We got commissioned to build a couple signs for the SWAT team at one of our local police departments. We Really rose to the occasion and it has turned into a valid fabrication product and we are very proud of the actual product.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
